The Youth Coalition enlists young people in Henry County to take an active role in promoting healthy, substance-free lifestyles by finding creative ways to educate their peers, parents and the community about the risks of engaging in or facilitating substance abuse, specifically underage drinking.  With a focus on creating tomorrow's leaders, the Youth Coalition relies on its members to serve not only as a prevention resource, but as a front-line defense against substance abuse in Henry County.

ACTION PLAN

2010-2011

·         Bi-monthly meetings to educate on the alcohol and effects of underage drinking

·         Implement Logic Model/Action Plan

·         Develop videos, posters, ads and tray liners

·         Enhance HCCT website with videos, links and UAD info

·         Create Facebook page

·         Provide alternative activities (like Fifth Quarter)

·         Develop and deliver UAD presentations to parent groups

·         Complete environmental scan of alcohol and tobacco outlets

·         Present findings of environmental scan to CARE Team Coalition and HC KY-ASAP

·         Work with KSP Post 5 on tip line to report UAD

·         Recognize community members who support efforts of Youth Coalition

·         Complete Super Bowl Survey (if offered)

·         Work on UAD Town Hall Meeting/Present info to parent planning groups of Project Prom and Project Graduation
